When you need a documented survey
- Insurance claims and adjusters
- Warranty claims with a manufacturer or installer
- Disputes and legal matters
- Public, government and union projects that specify infrared documentation
- Owners planning major envelope work, and quality checks of new insulation, windows or EIFS
If you just want to know where the drafts and ice-dam heat loss are, a Moisture Scan is faster and costs less.
What's included
- Every wall, window and door, inside and out, plus ceilings and floors
- Energy loss, air leakage and latent moisture, with the building's pressure conditions recorded
- Every finding verified visually or with moisture-meter probes
- A written report with paired thermal and visual images, locations, times and weather for each finding
- A re-scan after repairs

Conditions
Surveys run when it's at least 18°F colder outside than inside for several hours, with dry surfaces and light wind, so the season in Rochester is roughly December through March. If the weather doesn't cooperate, we reschedule at no charge.
Credentials and pricing
Thermal work is led and reported by Doug Lancie, an Infraspection Institute Level I Certified Thermographer (sUAS), Cert. No. 20483-D, and FAA Part 107 remote pilot. Handheld imaging uses a FLIR C8 radiometric imager with traceable factory calibration. NYS-Certified SDVOB #269133.
Every survey is quoted per building. Call or text (585) 645-2969 or request a survey.
